When the Oaks Fired

Experience Barnsley exhibition to commemorate the 383 lives lost in the mining disaster

Commissioned to work with Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership to commemorate the 150th anniversary of The Oaks Disaster, which claimed 383 lives and still remains to be the worst mining disaster in England’s history.

Marketing materials created by Field, coupled with coverage from Barnsley Chronicle and BBC Sheffield, inevitably created higher footfall and ensured that the 'When The Oaks Fired' exhibition, was the busiest ever at Experience Barnsley.
